X-Men: Apocalypse is not exactly a critical darling, with a lower than I ever expected 47% on Rotten Tomatoes after 212 counted reviews. Apparently only X-Men Origins – Wolverine received worst reviews, with an approval rating of 38% (I’m sure if rated today, most if not all would give this one a negative review). I can tell you that in my opinion Apocalypse is overall better than X-Men: The Last Stand (58%), but sadly a step down from First Class (87%) and Days of Future Past (91%). Guess history repeat itself, as the same thing happened with the original X-Men trilogy (first one great, second even better, third by far the weakest).
But enough about that, I’ll have more of my thoughts on X-Men: Apocalypse this weekend in the form of something that might resemble a review. Now let’s move on to the clips, starting with one that introduces us to a young Cyclops.
Jennifer Lawrence’s Raven is looking to free mutants forced to fight in cage matches, and in this clip we meet Nightcrawler and Angel.
And shortly after the clip above Raven is welcomed home by Charles Xavier, James McAvoy.
You really don’t want to get on Michael Fassbender, Magneto’s bad side. Oh and major spoilers here, so you’ve been warned.
And lastly here’s a featurette about the history of Apocalypse, the new film’s big bad guy.
