Why You Should See Omoni Oboli’s “Wives on Strike”


All is set for Omoni Oboli’s latest effort “Wives on Strike”. The movie which stars Omoni Oboli, Uche Jombo, Chioma Akpotha & Ufuoma McDermot tells the story of a group of market women who decided to take matters into their own hands by refusing to “Jangilova” with their husbands in a bid to stir them into standing up for a young girl whom they wanted to protect from the wishes of her own father.

Come April 8th, Wives on strike will hit cinemas Nationwide. From Omoni Oboli’s previously released movie, She has shown us she is a versatile actress, We cannot wait to have another dose of her with such stellar performances in her romantic comedies “Being Mrs Eliot” and “First Lady” which did well in box office.

There have been rumours of people comparing “Wives on strike” to Spike Lee’s “Chiraq” which the actress denounced that it’s in no way similar..The movie should prove ‘us’ or the ‘actress’ wrong.

The movie features Ace comedian Julius Agwu. Uncle Julius Agwu is very good at his thing, from the trailer, I believe this movie is going to be a hilarious broad comedy…“When conji hold you, You go speak igbo by force”

The use of Broken English “Pidgin” just make the movie a delight to watch..Abi, make we have another taste of our Naija movie now. No be everyday we go dey watch the romantic comedies with fake British accents.
