Since they didn’t have Bruce Willis and Aerosmith back then, the only other thing I can think of that a bunch of highly intelligent (most of them at least) prehistoric animals could do in this situation is find an alien ship at that crash site and maybe in it there’s some kind of weapon that could potentially destroy the asteroid and save them all. Either that or the twist here is they all die at the end and this is truly the end of the Ice Age franchise. Thing is Ice Age is still making Fox and Blue Sky a lot of money, so I’m gonna say it’s not the later of those two.
Voicing characters in Ice Age: Collision Course are John Leguizamo, Ray Romano, Denis Leary, Simon Pegg, Jennifer Lopez, Nick Offerman, Queen Latifah, Seann William Scott and many others. Mike Thurmeier (Ice Age; Dawn of the Dinosaurs, Ice Age: Continental Drift) and Galen T. Chu directed the animation.
Ice Age: Collision Course, the 5th installment in the series, opens first in Singapore on June 30th, followed by Germany on July 7th and so on. The US date is July 22nd
