Show Us What You’ve Got In The New Trailer For Sing

Sing-pen-wow
Everyone gets a shot at winning in this new 4 minute trailer for Illumination Entertainment’s Sing, another 2016 animation with Matthew McConaughey’s voice.

“To save his theater from closing down, a koala named Buster Moon holds a singing contest to raise money for it and the entire town auditions for a part in the show.”

American Idol with talking animals, it’s kind of genius, I’m actually surprised it took them this long to make such a feature. I mean everyone loves those stupid singing competitions and kids love talking animals, so you get just about everyone in those seats, also it comes out on Christmas. As far as sure-fire hits go (that aren’t sequels/prequels/spin-offs or based on a known property), Sing is way up there. So far Illumination Entertainment have yet to produce a box office bomb and The Secret Life of Pets (out tomorrow) and Sing will keep that impressive streak going for at least another year. Then in 2017 they’re going back to the well with Despicable Me 3 (and almost certainly a Minions sequel in 2018).

Garth Jennings wrote and directed Sing. Voicing the animals in the new animations are Matthew McConaughey (also lending his voice to Kubo and the Two Strings), Scarlett Johansson, Taron Egerton, Reese Witherspoon, Nick Offerman, John C. Reilly, Leslie Jones, Seth MacFarlane and Nick Kroll.

Sing opens December 8th in Germany, December 15th in Italy and December 21st in the US.
