Finally the first trailer for Game of Thrones Season 6 is here and even though its just for a few seconds, you just have to have to pay a whole lot of attention to it because if you blinked, you probably missed something from this trailer, I mean they really did pack a lot in just 90 seconds. Only a couple of days ago I was beginning to think we might not even see footage from season 6 ahead of the show’s release, and now here it is, and it’s pretty damn revealing. The trailer starts off where Season 5 ended, with a certain key character seemingly at death’s door, lying in the snow. Then jump to Jaime and Cersei Lanister, Ser Davos and so on, all very gloomy. Basically in the first half we get a glimpse of most of the major players dealing with the aftermath of season 5, and then we see Drogo and that’s what signals the 180 turn in the trailer. The second half, that’s the one you might want to watch more than once. Suffice it to say, there’s a lot going on in season 6. And best of all, we really don’t know what’s going to happen next, book readers or not.
Created by David Benioff and D.B. Weiss, Game of Thrones is based on “A Song of Ice and Fire” by George R.R. Martin, a series of 7 novels (of which only 5 are currently out). Starring in the hit show are Peter Dinklage, Lena Headey, Emilia Clarke, Kit Harington, Sophie Turner, Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, Maisie Williams, Gwendoline Christie, Isaac Hempstead Wright and many others.
Game of Thrones returns for its 6th season starting April 24th on HBO.
