“Michelangelo, Donatello, Leonardo, and Raphael return to theaters this summer to battle bigger, badder villains, alongside April O’Neil, Vern Fenwick, and a newcomer: the hockey-masked vigilante Casey Jones. After supervillain Shredder escapes custody, he joins forces with mad scientist Baxter Stockman and two dimwitted henchmen, Bebop and Rocksteady, to unleash a diabolical plan to take over the world. As the Turtles prepare to take on Shredder and his new crew, they find themselves facing an even greater evil with similar intentions: the notorious Krang.”
Teenage Mutant Ninja: Turtles: Out of the Shadows continues to look superior to its predecessor, mostly because it seems to double down on what worked in the first one (the turtles, obviously), and also because they’re really going hard for the hit 80-90’s cartoon (between villains Bebop and Rocksteady and even Krang). At this point I know I’m gonna want to watch Out of the Shadows, just not sure yet if that will happen in theaters or at home.
Dave Green (Earth to Echo) directed the sequel with a screenplay by Josh Appelbaum and Andre Nemec, based on the original characters created by Kevin Eastman and Peter Laird. Starring in Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows are Megan Fox, Will Arnett, Stephen Amell, Brian Tee, Laura Linney, Tyler Perry and William Fichtner. Johnny Knoxville is again voicing Leonardo while Tony Shalhoub talks for Splinter.
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows is out June 3rd in the US and around the world.
